Alter ego or joint partner trusts may be suitable for individuals age 65 or older who wish to minimize probate fees, protect their assets in case they are unable to manage them, reduce the likelihood of challenges to the distribution of their estate assets upon death, maintain a degree of privacy with respect to the distribution of their estate assets, and/or simplify the administration of their estate.
