Here to support you during COVID-19

March 16, 2020 Daniel Labonté

It’s clear that we’re living through challenging times.

I know that many of you are on the front lines of the COVID-19 outbreak and are playing crucial roles in the current situation — and that can take a toll on you personally and professionally. I want to assure you that, as always, we’re here for you whenever you need us. We remain committed to doing everything we can to support you and your family members — and will continue to do our utmost to take care of your financial health — so that you can focus on taking care of your patients.

We also want to take every precaution to ensure we don’t inadvertently put you at any additional risk. That’s why we’ve made the decision to postpone our in-person client events and are looking at virtual alternatives to ensure we continue to provide you with education and valuable information. Virtual client meetings will replace face-to-face meetings for the foreseeable future and we will be proactively reaching out to every client to touch base and keep you informed. If you’d like to meet with someone immediately, please let us know, and your MD Advisor* or another member of your MD Financial Management (MD) team will be happy to help you.

MD Financial Management already has robust infrastructure in place that enables many of our staff to work from home as efficiently as if they were in the office. This has left us well prepared to continue to operate and serve you effectively, while looking after our employees and their families.

Before I close, I’d like to touch on recent market activity and remind you that your MD Portfolio was designed to achieve your long-term financial goals with respect to your comfort level with risk and volatility. To find out more about how we’re adjusting portfolios for current market conditions – and for insights on how to maintain your long-term perspective — please read the “ Staying in control: How to avoid emotional investing” blog.

Please be assured that we’re continuing to monitor the situation closely as it evolves and are prepared to take any and all additional measures, if the need arises, to protect the health and safety of our clients and employees.
