MD Physician Services Leads Financial Planning Week As Gold Sponsor

November 27, 2014

MD Physician Services Inc. (MD), a Canadian Medical Association (CMA)-owned financial management organization, was the Gold sponsor at the sixth annual Financial Planning Week which took place across Canada from November 16-22, 2014.

Highlights of MD’s sponsorship included Being Gold: The 2014 CFP Professional Symposium designed specifically for Certified Financial Planner (CFP) professionals and Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) Level 1TM Certificants in Financial Planning.

“MD’s ongoing sponsorship of Financial Planning Week speaks to the significance we place on financial planning for our clients—Canada’s physicians—at all stages of their career,” said François Durocher, Executive Vice President, Member Experience, at MD.

“In fact, the majority of MD physician clients have a written financial plan, in comparison to physician non-clients who invest with MD’s competitors1,” he added. “We attribute the higher rate of financial plans among our clients as an essential component in providing them with personalized financial advice, whether they are a medical student wanting to minimize debt, or a practising physician thinking about incorporation.”

About Financial Planning Week

Since 2009, Financial Planning Week has been an integral part of Financial Literacy Month and is part of an ongoing effort by the Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC) and the Institut québécois de planification financière (IQPF) to raise awareness of financial planning as fundamental to the financial well-being of Canadians.
