MD Private Trust Ranks First in Five-Year Asset Growth Rate

June 28, 2016

MD Private Trust had the highest five-year asset growth rate in both trust and estate revenue for the period ended December 2015, according to Investor Economics Fee-based Report, Winter 2016 Edition.

According to the Investor Economics report, “MD Private Trust is an example of a trust company that has solved the investment advisor dilemma, and, incidentally, has shown the highest revenue relative growth rate in the past five years.  Their unique value proposition to medical professionals and the absence of friction with referrals from advisors, partially due to the different advisor-compensation agreements, are likely contributing factors to their success.”

“We are very pleased to have MD Private Trust ranked first for our five-year asset growth rate, and to have been acknowledged for our unique value proposition.  MD Advisors and teams of experts work together to offer comprehensive financial planning and services based on objective advice that is in the best interests of our clients,” said Brian Peters, President and CEO of MD.  “As a firm owned by the Canadian Medical Association, the financial well-being of our physician clients and their families is our top priority.”

In addition, Investor Economics reported that MD Private Investment Counsel (MDPIC), the discretionary investment management subsidiary of MD Financial Management Inc. (MD),  is still the largest1 non-bank-owned private investment counsel firm in Canada—and the only non-bank firm among the top five.

The information and data are published in the Fee-based Report Winter 2016 from Canadian financial services research and consulting firm Investor Economics.
