MD Financial Management (MD) is proud to announce that Michelle Masson, Executive Vice President (EVP) of the Early Career Segment, won the Female Executive of the Year award at the Women in Wealth Management Awards (WIWM Awards) ceremony held on November 21, 2018.
This annual award goes to a female executive in wealth management who demonstrates strong leadership and vision to help guide growth in her organization. Ms. Masson, who joined MD in 2009, plays a vital role in the creation of MD’s dynamic and agile workplace, and continually motivates MD’s highly engaged workforce. Under her leadership, MD won the prestigious 2017 Canadian HR Award for Best Workplace Culture.
As EVP of the Early Career Segment, Ms. Masson takes a fresh approach to client engagement, focusing specifically on the needs of early career physicians. During her tenure, she has led MD’s Innovation Hub and launched onboardMD.com, which provides decision support, career planning tools and a sense of community to its users.
“I am honoured to represent all the dedicated women who lead the way forward in wealth management,” said Michelle Masson. “It’s time for change in our industry and our firms, and it makes good business sense to fully leverage the power of the women leaders. I’m fortunate that MD takes an innovative approach to business and gives me the opportunity to drive change and make a difference. Everything we do to influence the industry today will smooth the path for the next generation of women. I see a future of true equality.”
The WIWM Awards are the first in the industry, in Canada, to recognize women in the financial services community who are making significant contributions to their profession, community and clients. There are seven award categories open to female advisors, wealth professionals and executives, and the teams and organizations that they run. Winners in all categories were announced at the Women in Wealth Management Summit cocktail reception on November 21, 2018, at Beanfield Centre in Toronto. The WIWM Awards and Summit are brought to us by Wealth Professional magazine.
